The 2017 Fast Track Programme has been a resounding success with players and coaches attending from all over Scotland, including some who flew-in from Shetland especially for the sessions.
The sessions were delivered in Aberdeen and the Central Belt by the National Team Staff Coaches, who were supported by Senior National Team players acting as role models. The central theme of the 2017 Fast Track sessions included a detailed examination of the work of the outside hitters. The players all worked hard at mastering the postures required for passing, and the linkage and timing necessary for attacking. The coaches shared their insights and observations with colleagues, and aimed a constant stream of questions at the NT Staff who presented the sessions.
In total, there were over 160 attendances by players, with over 30 visits by coaches – that’s a terrific response from Scottish Volleyball, and made for packed gyms, lots of hard work, lots of smiles and some brilliant coaching conversations! So now the players and their coaches can go back to their Clubs and continue to develop the performance threads that were introduced.
So, on behalf of the SVA I would like to say a huge ‘thank-you’ to everyone who was involved in this Scottish Volleyball success story. The players, their coaches, the Staff at the International School in Aberdeen, Ken Fraser and Ross Allan, and the National Team Staff who did such a good job of presenting the Fast Track sessions.
Well done to all.
