Blair’s remit includes developing the volleyball workforce by delivery young leaders, introduction and coach education courses throughout the region. He also works closely with affiliated primary and secondary schools offering support to increase volleyball participation whilst promoting festivals and cups.
A mainstay of his work is around club development which includes enhancing club governance and introducing best practice across the club landscape. Highlighting modernisation tools and providing club support around legal status, employment, gift aid, promotion and branding. Building strong club links with local authorities and forging pathways into clubs from schools is also a key priority.
Blair has also launched a new recreational volleyball session branded Dig It, the aim of the programme is to bring people back to the sport they once played whilst introducing new players. These weekly sessions hosted by third parties including schools, local authority and leisure trusts are being rolled out throughout the region, these sessions also form a vital strand in Blair’s development plan for Volleyball in the West.
