It is with great pleasure that Scottish Volleyball announces the start of our new Pathways Manager, Fiona McNeilly on Monday 18th January 2010. Fiona shall be working two days per week throughout 2010 with Monday being her fixed day in the SVA office with the second day being flexible.
Fiona has an extensive background within High Performance sport and is a Director of the consultancy business Focus on Sport. Fiona has worked in areas such as Snowsport GB, Scottish Institute of Sport, Scottish Hockey, Triathlonscotland and has experience presenting event PR and Sponsorship along with management delivery with the British Olympic Association.
A major element of work for the Pathways Manager will be to help identify and construct the development pathways for players and officials enabling them to progress through the Scottish game. The emphasis will be on ‘mapping out’ the phases and stages which are required to support players, match officials and volunteers to progress from the point where they enter the game, to the highest performance level they can achieve. There will also be a focus on making sure the development pathways which are constructed are available to people across the length and breadth of the country, and not simply in single locations.
This means that Fiona will work with National Team Programmes, with Senior and Junior Clubs, with Local Authorities, with the BVF and National Agencies like sportscotland and the Institute of Sport, SVA volunteers and officials and our Commissions to ensure that the systems exist to enable Scottish Volleyball People to fully explore their potential.
The SVA staff and Board extend a heartfelt welcome to Fiona and know that she will add value and knowledge both to the Strategic and Operational level of the Association.
Fiona can be contact via the SVA office 0131 556 4633
