Following their fantastic series win over England, Scotland’s Senior Women’s National team head off this weekend to play in the SC European Finals in Luxembourg.
Friday the 23rd June will see the ladies play Iceland who finished ahead of them in their qualifying pool, but a recent friendly against the same nation saw the Scots come within a whisker of revenge so clearly this could be a thrilling opener.
Saturday morning sees the Scots play two incredibly tough ties against the talented hosts Luxembourg, followed by an early evening match against the always powerful Cyprus.
It doesn’t get any easier on the Sunday as the tournament closes with the team taking on the ever improving Faroe Islands.
The Scottish squad is a mixture of considerable experience including GB olympian Jo Morgan, GB player Jen Thom who has just played her 50th game for Scotland and a group of young talented athletes. With ten matches played since Easter including that great win over England, the Scots Women have every reason to believe that they are very well prepared for the challenge ahead. One thing for sure is that this group will not let anyone down.
