The Scottish Volleyball League Champions were all crowned this weekend with 2 of the 5 leagues going down to the last match.
City of Glasgow Ragazzi were guaranteed the league title with a 3-1 victory away to South Ayrshire last week. The Men from Glasgow have been the most consistent throughout the season and pick up their first SVL Premier title. Elsewhere Edinburgh Jets secured a playoff spot in their last match defeating NUVOC 3-0 which sends NUVOC into SVL ONE.
City of Edinburgh and Su Ragazzi played out a final match decider after Su defeated Edinburgh Jets 3-0 on Saturday. City started off the match in tough fashion taking the first set but Su fought back in the 2nd set winning a tight set 26-24. Su dominated the early stages with momentum on their side ahead comfortably in set 3 winning 25-14 before finishing the match 3-1 and securing a double for the Ragazzi club. QTS Troon secured their spot in the division with a 3-0 win over NUVOC on the last day of the season. Aberdonia are relegated and will play in SVL ONE next season.
Bon Accord came up against Dundee and Su Ragazzi II on the same day knowing one win would secure them the title. The Granite City Men went on to win both matches to secure promotion to the SVL Premier in 2016/17 Season. Lenzie overcame City of Edinburgh II in a midweek match to secure their spot in the Playoff while City will be relegated into SVL TWO. Dundee will face off against Edinburgh Jets in the SVL play-offs for the right to play in SVL Premier next season.
QTS Troon II completed a fantastic comeback 2-0 down to beat Dundee 3-2 and secure the SVL ONE title with a 14-0 winning record. A fantastic achievement by the team. Dundee move into a playoff vs NUVOC after the Edinburgh club lost their last game of the season vs QTS Troon.
Glasgow Mets II and South Ayrshire II played each other on the last day of the season with the winners to be crowned SVL TWO champions. The team from Glasgow played one of their best games of the season and secured automatic promotion after a tightly contested match. South Ayrshire II get another bite at the promotion cherry in the SVL play-off against Lenzie.
