Coaching is an essential part of the wider policies and interventions addressing sports participation. There is a very strong case for increasing and sustaining participation through coaching and growing evidence base, to support the role of coaches in inducing and sustaining participation.
The Conference is a continuation of stronger club conference designed specifically for coaches to learn new perspectives on some of the challenges they come across in their coaching practice.
The day intends to spread knowledge of the context surrounding Scottish Volleyball Clubs and share information of the structures and supports that can be used. Furthermore it will focus on the role of the coach. Coaches who have a better understanding of the coaching process and their own coaching practice, will present a more accommodating environment to players thereby assisting them to be more successful in the performance development pathways, which in turn will help retain their involvement as quoted by the Coaches Commission.
