‘Fuelling Performance’: CPD Workshop on Nutrition
I am delighted to present a CPD workshop, featuring three Stirling University PhD Students on the topic of nutrition. This is another good opportunity for our coaches to develop their range of coaching skills.
Sport scientists, Lindsay Macnaughton, Nidia Rodriguez Sanchez and Sophie Wardle have been involved with the Women’s National Volleyball Team providing solid scientific nutritional support to the female players and assisting coach Craig Faill in planning.
Updated with the latest cutting-edge research findings, this presentation is designed to inform coaches about the important role of nutrition. The workshop will:
· Describe how an athlete’s diet can affect performance
· Identify appropriate food and fluid intake prior to, during, and after training or competition
Furthermore the nutritionist scientists will discuss their experience with the national team helping our coaches understand the impact of their work and enable them to give good nutritional advice to their own players.
Date: 1st of March
Time: 4pm-6pm
Place: Edinburgh University
Price: Free to all registered SVA coaches
The number of coaches we can accept will be limited, so you are urged to get your nominations in quickly. Players who would like to find out more about nutrition are also welcome to attend.
