Sky Sports will screen the second round of the CEV Continental Beach Volleyball Cup in Portobello, Edinburgh, this weekend.
The satellite channel – through Simon Golding Television (SGTV) – will show two one-hour highlights shows next month.
It is the first time they have covered a beach volleyball event in Scotland. “It is fantastic to have Sky Sports coming on board and it lifts the whole event,” said Martyn Johnstone, tournament director.
“We are delighted to be involved with Simon Golding’s company. He has a great depth of knowledge of the sport and I am certain it will add to the occasion.
“This is the first time that Scotland has staged an international beach tournament and it promises to be a spectacular weekend.”
Teams from Scotland, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Slovakia are taking part in the event which begins on Saturday morning.
Shauna Mullin, who played for Great Britain on Horse Guards Parade at London 2012, will partner former Team Edinburgh colleague Anneka Hastings as part of the home challenge.
Scotland’s other pairing in the women’s event will feature Lynne Beattie, captain of the GB indoor team at London 2012, and former Scotland indoor cap Gillian Lyall. In the men’s event,
Scotland are represented by Robin Miedzydrodzki and Seain Cook and Edinburgh pair Jamie McHardy and Graham Riddle.
