The President of Scottish Volleyball’s Referees Commission, and SVA Board member Sandy Steel has been re-elected and once more appointed President of the FIVB Rules of the Games Commission by the newly appointed World President for Volleyball Dr Ary Graca.
In a statement received last week it was confirmed to both Sandy and the Scottish Volleyball Association that Sandy is once more appointed to this prestigious top job within FIVB.
Sandy said when asked about the appointment, “Yes it is now official and I have received my confirmation letter from President Graca. Once more I am delighted to be appointed, both for myself and for Scottish Volleyball, actually by the end of this four year term I shall have been President for 14 years! And a Commission member or secretary for the past 27 years”
Margaret Ann Fleming, CEO Scottish Volleyball commented “it truly is an outstanding achievement by Sandy to be involved within world volleyball for such a long time but to also lead the development of our game at the highest level possible is a remarkable achievement. I have known Sandy a very long time and this appointment more than ever has made me so very proud of the person that he is and of what he represents to all of us in volleyball.”
All of Scottish Volleyball, the Referees Commission, Board and staff say well done Sandy, congratulations and keep up the good work……….or as the FIVB would say “keep the ball flying”
