Scottish Volleyball is pleased to announce the creation of a beach performance pathway focussing on the long-term development of Scottish beach volleyball athletes to succeed domestically and internationally.
The pathway will involve three distinct levels to foster youth development, prepare talented junior athletes for international competition, and support senior athletes to perform at the highest levels of the sport. This will enable athletes with high-performance potential to be identified and developed from younger ages and provide a clear vision for athletes to progress up the pathway.
In the interim, to ensure that current older (Age Group or Senior) high-performance athletes who should be in the pathway are involved at the appropriate level, two beach national team training days will be open to those who are interested and eligible:
- Saturday 23 March, Liberton High School
- Saturday 6 April, Troon Beach
Each training day will include two sessions per gender; women’s sessions will be 9-11 am and 1-2.30 pm and the men’s sessions will be 11-12.30 pm and 2.30-4 pm.
To attend these sessions, athletes must be eligible to compete internationally for Scotland according to FIVB Sport Regulations and must RSVP using the following form: https://forms.office.com/e/YbzwfAqzfD.
Questions regarding the beach performance pathway or open sessions may be directed to High-Performance Beach Head Coach and Programme Manager Sarah Jankowitz at sarah.jankowitz@scottishvolleyball.org.
An announcement regarding the Regional Development Programme and how younger athletes can become involved will follow shortly.
