As part of the updated Scottish Volleyball beach performance pathway, a Regional Development Programme is being established to support the long term development of the sport.
This Regional Development Programme is designed to provide opportunities for youth and junior athletes (up to age 21) to develop foundational skills and help to grow the wider beach volleyball community in Scotland from the grassroots. As the broad base of the performance pathway, it will also prepare athletes who demonstrate potential for success at an international level to move up the pathway into the Age Group and Senior High Performance Programme in future years.
The Regional Development Group in the East will be based at St Andrews Beach Volleyball Club and coached by Colin Paterson and Jack McKeown. The Regional Development group in the West will be based at the West Coast Beach Volleyball Club and coached by Giannos Panayiotakis. As the Scottish beach programme grows, it is hoped that additional Regional Development Groups will be added in areas across Scotland.
