Scottish Volleyball is pleased to announce a new and exciting development in its commitment to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within the Scottish Volleyball community. In a move aimed at strengthening and diversifying its workforce, the organisation will implement a revamped appointment process for all national team staff, including Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Team Managers, across various age groups and genders.
Firstly, Scottish Volleyball would like to express its sincere gratitude to all current National Team staff members for their dedication and hard work. Their contributions have played a vital role in the recent success of the sport and their service is deeply appreciated.
In the spirit of progress and inclusivity, Scottish Volleyball is now set to align all National Team appointments to a two-year cycle. This change will offer greater flexibility for National Team staff to utilise their skills and experience more effectively and provide a level playing field for all applicants. This “reset” aims to support Scottish Volleyball by increasing the workforce, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, by delivering an open and fair appointment process.
Ally Jack, High-Performance Coach and Coaching Manager, shared his thoughts on this new direction, stating, “We have been very lucky to work with a number of excellent volunteers in our National Team programmes, and we would like to pay a huge thanks to them all for their service. With a range of roles on offer, we are anticipating some will be keen to take up the same, or perhaps even new posts, and we welcome those applications also. We want to expand the Scottish Volleyball workforce by utilising and developing the skills within the community while allowing some of our members to further develop their skills by being part of our National Team programmes.”
Danny Traylor, Workforce & Welfare Officer at Scottish Volleyball, emphasised the significance of the new appointment process, saying, “The clear job descriptions and outline of the commitment for each role, encourages prospective candidates to step forward, improving the diversity of the Scottish Volleyball workforce. The anonymised first stage ensures that candidates will be selected for interview based on their skills and experience.”
Scottish Volleyball is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and encourages applications from all members of the community. The organisation is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for individuals of all backgrounds.
The comprehensive application process, including clear job descriptions for Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Team Manager positions, will be officially announced in the coming days. These positions will be available across three age groups and two genders, further underlining the organisation’s commitment to diversity and inclusion within the sport.
Scottish Volleyball looks forward to a successful implementation of this new appointment process, and encourages all qualified individuals to consider applying for these vital roles within the National Team programmes. The organisation remains dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone has an opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of volleyball in Scotland.
