Scottish Volleyball are delighted to announce the selection of Harry Orr and Matthew Allan for the CEV U22 Beach Volleyball European Championships in the Netherlands next month.
As part our new ambitious beach volleyball development strategy introduced by Felipe, our High Performance Beach Coach and Programme Manager, Scottish Volleyball are looking to enter more young teams into the different age group category beach volleyball competitions organised by CEV. Felipe: “I believe it extremely important to give exposure to these high profile events to our developing beach athletes at the earliest opportunity”, while Blair, Regional Development Officer for the West and National Pathways Officer, said “I am delighted for Harry and Matthew who are products of the Renfrewshire Schools project set up by Andy. These players have gone from secondary school recreational volleyball to playing on the national stage for both the indoor and beach disciplines. This is a huge opportunity for them and I am sure they will grab it with both hands”.
Both Matthew and Harry will be taking to the beach next week in preparation for their U22 competition in their first international beach event, as we welcome back beach volleyball to Scotland in the Small Countries Beach Zonal event at Kyle Academy, Ayr. Rumour has it the sun is making an appearance, and spectators are more than welcome to cheer on our teams!
