It was a great weekend for volleyball at the Sports and Exercise Institute of Dundee University. City of Edinburgh brought home two trophies as they won both the women’s and men’s finals of the Grand Prix. Both finals saw City of Edinburgh and Su Ragazzi as protagonists.
In the women’s final Su Ragazzi fought hard to win against City of Edinburgh, especially in the final set. City of Edinburgh won a very competitive and highly tactical match with the final result of 3 – 0 (25 – 17, 25 – 18, 29 – 29).
The men’s team of Su Ragazzi and City of Edinburgh fought hard to get the Grand Prix title. Both teams demonstrated a high level of performance, with City of Edinburgh winning the final for 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-23).
During the entire day, the ISE of Dundee University, saw a total of eight competitive game being played. Alongside the John Syer Grand Prix finals, the SSS Cup Semi-finals and finals were on. The participating teams were Heriot-Watt, Glasgow University, Aberdeen University, two teams of Saint Andrews University, two teams of the University of Edinburgh and University of Dundee.
