It was a busy Sunday for the Scotland Women’s National Training Squads.
The Junior Women were training in Troon while the Seniors were in Perth.
The senior training was the last session before a very young Scotland team take on the national sides of Northern Ireland and Ireland in Belfast’s Queen’s University this Saturday 16th March in the Celtic Cup.
This will undoubtedly be the youngest Scotland senior squad to take on full international matches as it has nine teenagers in it ranks. There will be 8 new caps in the squad of 12. They have earned this opportunity as some more senior players are involved in very important Natonal League matches in Scotland that day.
Danny Traylor will be head coach to the team for the first time too and he will be assisted by the very experienced stalwart Gail Campbell as team manager.
The squad is:
Shona Fraser – Volleyball Aberdeen
Chloe Rutherford – Volleyball Aberdeen
Emma Waldie – City of Edinburgh
Ellie Stewart – City of Edinburgh
Rhian Murphy – City of Edinburgh
Ellen Ranklin – City of Edinburgh
Megan Hall – City of Edinburgh
Sam Fowler – Su Ragazzi
Megan Quinn – Su Ragazzi
Heather Hamilton – Caledonia West
Kirsty Ross – Caledonia West
Laura Baillie – Caledonia West
We wish them all the very best in what will be an exciting and challenging adventure.
