Scottish Volleyball’s Annual Easter Camp at Kilgraston 2018 was one of those great volleyball opportunities at which young aspiring volleyballers take the opportunity to hone their skills over four days in the company of friends old and new, and under the guidance of experienced coaches.
Coaches in turn get the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of the coaching process as they exchange thoughts and views with each other over the course of the practical sessions, and in the evenings over coffee.
This year was no exception as 30 young volleyballers (15 boys and 15 girls) of varying levels of experience, worked and played tirelessly in an enjoyable environment while 6 coaches supported their work.
At the end of the four camp days the quality of game play was amazingly high as the players put into practice all the key course elements which were the development of side out and transition skills and tactics.
As with all these events a number of “thank-yous” are necessary. To the staff of Kilgraston school who made this residential stay so comfortable; to the families of all the players for their continued support of their volleyballing youngsters; to the coaches who volunteered to give up their time to assist in this invaluable and thoroughly enjoyable experience and , of course, to a great bunch of young people who created a super sporting environment.
Well done to all of you.
