The SVA are delighted to announce Jean Bruce onto our Board as the new HR Director.
Jean has vast volleyball experience spanning over 30 years, which includes playing since 1984, being a member of the special events team and volunteering at National and International Events as a scorer. Currently playing for Linlithgow Hornets and Nuvoc 2 women’s team.
For the last three years, she has also volunteered at the UK School Games as an official NTO. Jean has current qualifications as a referee and also as a coach for the SVA.
Professionally, Jean is a Clinical Nurse Manager in NHS Lothian. She manages 32 registered nurses and has professional accountability for a further 30 who work for The University of Edinburgh. Included in Jean’s workload is dealing with HR issues on a daily basis, i.e. Promoting attendance, annual leave, special leave and the management of policies and procedures.
Jean clearly demonstrates a high level of responsibility, professionalism and expertise within her management role and recently received 100% in an internal staff survey from her fellow peers.
Jean is very enthusiastic in every role she undertakes and really enjoys taking on new challenges. The SVA are very certain that Jean will make a big impact and will be a great asset to the Board.
