We are delighted to announce that Will McConn will be presenting a sport psychology workshop called “Reflective Practice: Starting with the coach” for our coaches. Will McConn is an experienced sport psychologist and has recently supported the successful women’s national team journey to Lichtenstein.
This workshop will take place on Monday the 19th of October at Strathclyde University from 7pm-9pm.
The growing professional approach within coaching is placing increased emphasis on practitioners to demonstrate their competency. Such competency is often limited, however, to external forms of evaluation. Applied psychology for coaches involves starting with the self, rather than the athlete, in order to improve delivery and relational aspects. It is important for coaches to have their own internal forms of evaluation. This session will look to explore such tools and foster ways in which reflection can be built into day to day coaching in a practical manner.
The cost is £10 (or only £5 for SVA registered coaches).
