Saturday 20th July 2013 will see the 3rd Annual Riverside Beach Volleyball Masters taking place at the Riverside Transport Museum in Glasgow. This year we have the extra special appearance of the GB Women’s Indoor Olympic Captain on show in the Women’s Competition.
The format is the same as last year with 3 women’s teams and 3 men’s teams (a round-robin format). Prize money is on offer to all 6 of the teams competing in this Masters Event.
The Women’s Competition will take place from 10am – 1pm. There are 3 strong pairings competing this season in the shape of Gillian Lyall & Agata Aleksandra Zaremba, GB Women’s Indoor Captain Lynne Beattie & her partner Laura McReady and also Cathy Smy & Lillian Lieber. This competition is due to be a cracker with all 3 teams regularly practicing this week.
The Men’s Competition will run from 2pm – 5pm with this years tour leaders Barry McGuigan competing with his partner Graham Riddle. This team is hot favourites to take the title but some good pairings in the form of Lenard Soberiacki & Mariusz Chudzik and Colin McNab & Jack McKeown. Can these pairs upset the much fancied favourites?
With the weather out in force this weekend, you should definitely come along and not only sample the beach volleyball but also have a walk around the transport museum. This will be one of the closest Riverside Masters to date so come along and watch the action.
