32 talented young players attended the Scotland Young Senior Women camp at Wishaw Sports Centre on the 5th and 6th of January with a further 8 established members of the group offering apologies for non attendance. With a number of young players over in Luxembourg with the Senior Squad at the same time it is certain that we now have a core of young women who are able to take the game significantly forward in this country.
Players were from a wide range of clubs and schools and came from as far apart as Aberdeen and Troon.
The camp was high intensity, had high levels of ball contact and covered the full range of skills. Thanks to the incredible levels of concentration, and application shown by the players there was a distinct improvement by the end of the 2 days in ball control, movement and in reading of the game.
Managers and Coaches are currently looking at finding playing opportunities for all the squad members during the Easter holidays.
The next training day for the squad is the 27th January 2013 and new faces irrespective of current playing level are welcome. You are able to nominate yourself for this day or you can be nominated by a parent or a school or club official. You should make your interest known to the team manager Aileen Hall, at aileenhall1@hotmail.com
