A few years ago, Agata Aleksandra Zaremba came from Poland to study and was looking for a club to play her volleyball. Unfortunately there were only Mens Teams in the National League. Agata then became involved in Scottish Universities Volleyball and met so many people who are involved in volleyball and was convinced that she could build her own team in the Aberdeen area.
With the help of Ernie Rettie (coach) and Hannah Beveridge, they started slowly to put the team together and organised their training sessions for every Saturday during the summer and invited ladies who wanted to play at a higher level and more regularly than district league. Each session had a great attendance and we then started to build the team. With great assistance from two National League Mens sides, the berdonia team moved forward and registered with the Scottish Volleyball Association for the 2011/2012 season.
Aberdonia are a young and vibrant team who have alot of experienced International players from countries such as USA, Czech Republic, Netherland, Germany and Poland.
This is the first year of existence for this team and they cannot wait to play their first match against Dundee away from home.
Good luck to the team for the coming season.
