The SVA Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme Heads North!
The date Sunday 24th October 2010
The venue The Centre for Sport and Exercise at Dundee University
The time 10.00 – 15.00
The theme Developing ball control, and game tactics in junior players
Developing ball control is the start of the process of being successful in the game. It’s a process of establishing good posture, and good decision making. The CPD Clinic in Dundee will explore these themes, and the development of offence, and game tactics.
The clinic is part of the Northern Development project, and is being supported by Derek Welch, sportscotland’s Coach and Volunteer Development Manager for the Tayside and Fife Regional Hub. The clinic will be presented by Thomas Dowens the SVA Director of Coaching, and will feature junior players engaging in the actual work.
The content and work examined in the clinic will be appropriate to developing junior players across a range of playing levels, from school team programme through to UK School Games, and Junior National League standards. The clinic is open to volleyball coaches, to school teachers and to volunteers. The cost of the clinic is £15 and this can cover several members of the same Club or programme.
Interest in the clinic should be registered by Emailing Kirsteen at the SVA Office or contacting Derek Welch at Sport Tayside and Fife partnership.
I look forward to seeing you on October 24th
Thomas Dowens
SVA Director of Coaching
