On Friday 28th May 2010 at Scottish Volleyball’s Annual General Meeting held with support from Perth and Kinross District Association and the SVOT at Bells sport centre Perth, Jim Berryman was elected as the new President of Scottish Volleyball. Jim who was formerly the Vice-President of the Board was unanimously elected by the voting members present at our AGM and he has accepted the responsibility for the next two years.
This position became available as Colin McGinlay chose not to stand for re-election after several years’ dedication as Vice President and subsequently President of the SVA Board.
Margaret Ann Fleming, CEO of Scottish Volleyball said;
“I personally would like thank Colin McGinlay for his dedication, hard work and enthusiasm to our sport. He has been a support to me as CEO and I look forward to working with Colin through his continued commitment to his club and Beach Volleyball. I would also very much like to welcome Jim as our new President. I am sure this appointment shall help the Association fulfil our desire to be 30% Bigger, Better and Stronger and that his business experience combined with his passion and drive will ensure that the next two years are going to be great ones”
In addition to Jim’s appointment we had an overwhelming re-election of Steve Scott as a Board Director and the SVA staff and Board warmly welcome Steve back and thank him for stepping up to the mark once more.
Finally to all those who attended Friday night’s AGM and those individuals and clubs who were presented with awards, well done and thank you.
