UK School Games 2010 – The NORTHERN EXTENSION sessions

Aberdeen & South Grampian District Volleyball AssociationThe Scottish Volleyball Association, in partnership with the Aberdeen District Association and Aberdeenshire Council, are delighted to announce that we have extended the practice sessions for the UK School Games Squads this year, to include the north of Scotland.

The dates and venues for these additional sessions will be:
Sunday 18th April 2010 – Portlethen Academy, Aberdeen – 9am-3pm
Sunday 16th May 2010 – Portlethen Academy, Aberdeen – 10am-3pm

UKSGThe hope is that we will be able to see and work with players from the North of Scotland, and help make sure that as many players as possible benefit from the UK School Games experience.

“The UK School Games will give young people from all over the UK the chance to compete in the biggest school sports event the UK has ever seen. The Games replicate the feel of a major multi-sport event such as the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games or the Commonwealth Games”.

Andrew McGregorThe Northern sessions are open to all players who fall into the appropriate age categories, and will be delivered by members of the Scottish UK School Games staff. The aim of the sessions is to identify and select players for the UKSG Teams, but also to help develop volleyball in the North of Scotland. So, if you are playing volleyball in a Club, or in school, and want to sample the UKSG experience, then sign up for the sessions.
